Digital Science & Scientific Computing branches (DSSC) support Researcher ICT Solutions. We're focused on delivering advanced research computing to help DSTG accelerate the delivery of capability advantage to Defence through Innovation, Science and Technology.
As part of the Digital Science (DS) Branch the eResearch Portfolio and Resourcing Discipline (ePRP) is responsible for the delivery of complex ICT projects in support of research outcomes.
The Digital Science, Scientific Computing (DSSC) Branch has a requirement for a Service Provider to provide outsourced project delivery services to support the Investment and Work Take On Project Portfolio delivery. This will include providing skilled resources on-demand across the following roles to deliver projects:
- Program/ Project Management
- Business Analysis
- Project Organisational Change Management
- Project Communications
- Solution Architecture
- Security Architecture
- Technical document writing
- ICT Build Teams
- Testing and user acceptance
- Ongoing BAU architecture support
The Service Provider shall perform all the activities necessary for the provision of resources for the Investment and Work Take On (WTO) project delivery services in accordance with the contract including but not limited to:
- Administration – jointly develop resource assemsment criteria to ensure role sutibility
- Resource planning – work with the eRPR team to forecast and respond to resource demand
- Resource sourcing and deployment – maintain access to a pool of security cleared project delivery roles which can be deployed as required
- Security, compliance and vetting – ensure resources have an appropriate sercuity clearance for the role
Investment project planning and Project Charters are developed as part of DSSC annual planning cycle to inform the Investment Portfolio for the upcoming financial year
WTO Project Proposals are created as an agreement between researchers and DSSC to ensure a shared understanding of scope, time and cost. WTO Projects can vary significantly in complexity and system integration requirements and will therefore discussed with the Service Provider as required on request.
Example of WTO Projects:
- Modelling and simulation environments;
- War gaming environments,
- Trial systems.
Investment Projects deliver the necessary physical and digital research environments to provide the fundamental ICT capabilities for researchers. Investment Projects are normally delivered across multiple financial years.
Examples of Investment Projects:
- Strengthening DSTG cyber security posture,
- Upgrades and enhancements to existing centralised digital science ICT Infrastructure,
- Introduction of new centralised digital science capabilities.

You must have a baseline clearance. NV1/NV2 is preferred for system admins and security roles.
